How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Beat butter, sugar, and syrup until light and fluffy.
  • Blend in egg and vanilla.
  • Add, and mix in oats and chocolate chips.
  • Press firmly into pan.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Cool for 2 hours, then serve.

    Just made these today and they turned out excellent! Much better than what you buy in the store, and cheaper too. :) I plan on making them this school year for lunches and snacks instead of buying the ones in the store.
    It's a good base recipe and next time I make them I plan on leaving out the chocolate chips and putting in dried fruit and nuts. :) Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

    The picture shows almonds.. Can you also add diffrent nuts? You did not mention them in the ingredents.
