Crockpot Pinto Beans

- 1 16oz bag pinto beans shopping list
- 1 pkg. country ham bits (they come in 10oz pkgs near the country ham/fatback section) shopping list
- water shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Clean beans by pouring them a handful at a time into a strainer, picking out rocks and rotten-looking beans, then run water over the beans, moving them around with your hand.
- Put in crock pot.
- Put water about half-way up side of crock pot. (Sorry I don't measure - I just follow the tips of crock pot use!)
- Put in the country ham bits without removing fat.
- Add a little salt.
- Cook for 6 hours(medium high on mine).
- *You can eat the country ham bits too! It is really tender!
- *Remember, I like mine kind of firm and with thinner juice, so this is how these will turn out!
