Garlic Broiled Tomatoes Recipe
This side dish adds flavor and color to the plate, best served with beef as a compliment to the flavors of the meat.

Ingredients
  • One large, ripe beef steak tomato
  • 2 to 3 cloves of garlic
  • Fresh Basil leaves or dried basil (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Foil

Directions
  1. Poke long slits with a sharp knife around the stem of the tomato in a circle. Then continue in rows to the middle of the tomato.
  2. Slice the garlic cloves large enough to be inserted into the holes.
  3. Stuff the tomato with the garlic, adding basil or salt if desired.
  4. Wrap in foil and broil until tomato is soft
  5. Serve immediately
