How to make it

  • In a 1 quart saucepan, combine sugar, cream and butter.
  • Cook and stir until butter is melted and mixture very hot.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in semi-sweet chocolate until melted and well blended.
  • Stir in liquor. (If desired, halve the batch and use different liquors of flavouring)
  • Cover and chill 1 hour or until completely cooled, stirring often.
  • Drop mixture from a rounded teaspoon onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
  • Chill 30 minutes or until firm.
  • Roll balls into nuts or cocoa powder.
  • You may roll in coconut, sprinkles or dip into white, dark or milk chocolate.
  • Store in a cool, dry location.

    Oh my goodness this sounds divine. There are so many options with this one to make a truffle gift box....I think I would like to try it using chocolate mint Bailey's. Thanks!
