We eat these every single morning for breakfast. They are super easy and super fantastic. We use Hershey's cinnamon chips and order them by the case from amazon.com.

BetsyBabe - Mommamoose was not directing people to preparedpantry.com for the recipe - she was directing people there as a source for real cinnamon baking chips (like they use at Starbucks). She didn't suggest the recipe was there.

For those of you looking for cinnamon chips, I went to my local Great Harvest Bread Co and they sold me cinnamon chips for $3 a pound. BTW....Mommamoose (below) is directing people to preparedpantry.com for these scones but it's NOT a recipe site, it's a site that sells BOXED MIXES.

Finally found the "Secret" to making these scones (actually any scones similar to these) to get the Flaky, Layered texture that makes these Fantastic!! Was totally by accident. Mix all dry stuff together; Add wet stuff & cinnamon chips to dry mix (Don't Cut Butter in!!) Mix together Well. NOW, Add A Softened(Not Melted) stick of butter on top of dough and KNEAD BY HAND Until the butter is thoroughly mixed into the batter (3-5 mins of kneading). Roll out,cut and bake per recipe. You won't beleive the difference this makes!!

The cinnamon chips in the stores are NOT what they use at Starbucks - go to preparedpantry.com to find the right ones! They melt into little pockets of cinnamon heaven....SO good!

These looks so good. I too have been searching for the cinnamon chips...I saw them around Christmas time but darn it I didn't grab any! I love scones and made up my own recipe for blueberry scones..I used buttermilk too. I think it makes them more moist and flaky.
