Miso Soup

- dashi for miso Soup: shopping list
- 5 cups water shopping list
- 2 cups Bonito flakes (dried tuna flakes) shopping list
- 1 strip Kombu shopping list
- miso Soup shopping list
- 5 cups dashi shopping list
- 2 tbls miso paste (can use Shiro miso - has a lighter flavor) shopping list
- 4 oz cubed tofu - medium firmness shopping list
- 1 tbls dried wakame (black seaweed flakes) shopping list
- garnish with a sprinkling of green onion shopping list
- garnish with daikon slivers- optional shopping list
How to make it
- Combine 5 cups of water and 1 strip Kombu in a pot and cook for 20 minutes below a rapid boil.
- Take out strips of Kombu.
- Add Bonito flakes and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Strain liquid to get out flakes.
- Add 5 cups of strained Dashi broth to pot.
- Add the Miso Soup ingredients.
- Simmer.
- Garnish and serve.
