Garlicky Onion Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 whole medium-large onion
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Saute pan
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water
  • Favorite Bowl
  • Big soup spoon
  • Crusty bread
  • Cup of hot herbal tea

Directions
  1. Peel every clove of the head of garlic.
  2. Slice the cloves of garlic thin and cut into strips.
  3. Peel the onion. Cut the onion in half and slice very thin.
  4. Heat olive oil in saute pan.
  5. Lightly saute the slivers of garlic until softer. Do not brown.
  6. Add onions.
  7. Add more olive oil if needed to keep garlic and onion covered.
  8. Saute until onions become soft and translucent.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  10. Add water and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  11. Add more water for servings if needed.
  12. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  13. Serve in a bowl. Eat with a big spoon and crusty bread.
  14. Enjoy your soup and bread with a cup of hot herbal tea.
