These cookies are known as Chocolate Crinkles or Black and Whites which are perfect names for this deliciously soft, fudge-like chocolate cookie that is encased in a coating of confectioners (powdered or icing) sugar. Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (NOT SELF-RISING) shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Mix oil, chocolate, granulated sugar and vanilla in large bowl. Mix in eggs, one at a time. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F/180 degrees C. Grease cookie sheet.
- Drop dough by teaspoonfuls into confectioners' sugar; roll around to coat. Shape into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched lightly in center. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
