Easy Clam Chowder Recipe
This dish is a simple version of Clam Chowder. Easy to make for those cold winter nights.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb fresh clams or 2 (61/2 oz) cans (minced or chopped)
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 2 cups potatoes; peeled and diced
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • dash pepper
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups half & half
  • 2 cups milk

Directions
  1. Steam clams.
  2. Cook vegetables in clam juice and enough water to cover them. Cook until tender.
  3. While the vegetables are cooking, in another pot melt margarine.
  4. Remove from heat and add flour; stirring constantly. Place on medium-heat and while stirring add half&half and milk. Continue stirring until thick.
  5. Add sugar, pepper and clams.
  6. Add the vegetables and juice.

I could eat this whole pot! can't get clams fresh .. at least I don't think so.. but I can use canned right?
