How to make it

  • Thaw spinach in microwave at medium power for 6 minutes then set aside.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and stir well.
  • Spoon into a greased shallow 1 quart baking dish.
  • Bake uncovered at 350 for 25 minutes.
  • Serve with toasted baguette slices or tortilla chips.

    This is a fabulous recipe! I have used it for years and keep getting requests from friends and family for the recipe. I make it every year for our family Christmas party and made it for a baby shower yesterday. I always double the recipe because I use a pound of fresh crab meat (claw meat only) (never eat canned stuff, yuck!). I add more hot sauce and some Slap Ya' Mama seasoning (South Louisiana). I use a 14x8x3 curvy ceramic pan. There has not been a person I know that does not LOVE this recipe.

    I made this and it was outstanding! I like it because it uses creamed spinach and that makes prep time very quick. I omitted the hot sauce and I added the crab at the end so as not to break it up more than necessary when mixing. Excellent flavor! I used more Parmesan cheese too because I love all things cheese. I used Phillips crab meat and that comes in a 16 oz tin. Two batches of this is a LOT so plan to use the leftover crab meat soon in something else or share a second batch of this with someone else! Thanks for sharing!
