This is the cut out cookie recipe that my Mom always used when I was a kid it was passed down from my great grandmother.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ tsp salt

Directions
  1. -Cream butter until soft add sugar gradually cream together until light and fluffy.
  2. -Beat in eggs and vanilla
  3. -Sift flour and salt together
  4. -Blend well till dough is stiff (you will end up having to mix by hand)
  5. -Chill 2 to 3 hours or over night roll out and cut.
  6. -Bake at 325 for 12 to 14 minutes
