Ingredients

How to make it

  • Stir together flour, baking powder and soda; set aside. In
  • medium bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat
  • in egg and vanilla until blended. Stir in flour mixture
  • alternately with sour cream until blended. Stuff dates with
  • walnut halves; using 2 forks, roll each in dough until well
  • covered. Drop 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake in
  • preheated 400 degree oven 10 minutes or until golden brown
  • (cookies will still be soft to touch. Immediately remove to
  • racks. When cooled, spread with Easy Icing. Decorate with
  • sprinkles. (optional) Store airtight.
  • EASY ICING: In small bowl stir 2 tablespoons butter, melted, 1
  • tablespoon milk, (I use 2 tablespoons lemon juice instead of
  • milk), 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup confectioners sugar until
  • smooth.
  • * If your dates are chopped, just mash the sticky dates with
  • some of the walnuts to form a marble size ball.
