New Mexican Red Chile Recipe
In New Mexico chile is eaten with warm flour tortillas. You may use mild chile pods, especially if you like chile that is not too hot!

Ingredients
  • 7 to 10 red chile pods
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • !/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 small onion chopped finely
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. cooked grnd beef, or cooked chicken or pork

Directions
  1. Put chile pods in blender. Add water, garlic, oregano, onion & spices.
  2. Use puree speed on blender.
  3. Blend till mixture resembles liquid.
  4. Pour into sauté pan. Cook over medium heat.
  5. Add cooked meat.
  6. Add 1 can cooked pinto beans if you like.
  7. Simmer 20 minutes and eat!

Do you get incredible chili cravings when you leave our Land of Enchantment. I sure do. This sounds very good for a cold, winter night. In fact, it sounds good for a hot, dry summer night. LOL
