Tom And Jerrys Recipe

Tom And Jerrys Recipe
We always served this at our annual family Christmas skating party. This cocktail can be served both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. It be became a real tradition for us.

Ingredients
  • 6 eggs separated
  • 2 lbs powdered sugar
  • 1 T vanilla

Directions
  1. Put egg whites in bowl and beat until real stiff.
  2. Put egg yolks into another large bowl. Beat until liquid yellow in color.
  3. Add powdered sugar to egg yolk mixture, a little at a time. If mixture gets too thick you don't have to add all the sugar. Depends on how large your eggs are.
  4. Add vanilla to yolk mixture. Fold in egg whites by hand(not mixer).
  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  6. To make one serving of Tom and Jerrys add around 3 big Tablespoons of Tom and Jerrys mixture to very hot water in a cup. For non-alcoholic version, simply sprinkle with nutmeg and serve.
  7. For alcoholic version add a little whiskey. We always prefered Canadian whiskey because it is a little smoother.

Who'da thunk?
My husband's favorite cartoon and now he can have the drink when he watches it with the Grandkids and they can have their own!
Thanks!

I grew up with these, too, scarlet - thanks for the memories! I had to print this, since I think it's time to re-add it to our holiday tradition!!
