This date nut combination was popular as holiday treats when I was a kid. Tasty too!

Ingredients
  • 3 Egg whites
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 C All purpose flour
  • 1 C dates, chopped
  • 1 C Walnuts, toasted
  • powdered sugar

Directions
  1. Preaheat oven to 350.
  2. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Beat egg whits and vanilla on mediun speed untik they form soft peaks.
  4. Add sugar 2T at a timeb3ating on high until you have stiff peaks and sugar is "almost" dissolved.
  5. Fold in nuts & dates.
  6. Drop by the teaspoonful onto cookie sheets 2" apart.
  7. bake 8-10 inutes until lightly browned.
  8. Cool 1 minute before transferring to wire rack.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar to finish.
