How to make it

  • In large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar
  • In a saucepan, heat butter, Coke, and cocoa to boiling point
  • Pour over flour and sugar
  • Combine and mix thoroughly
  • Add other ingredients, and mix well
  • Pour into a greased and floured 9 X 13 inch pan
  • Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes
  • ICING
  • Heat butter, Coke, and cocoa to boiling point
  • Pour this mixture over powdered sugar
  • Mix well
  • Add toasted pecans
  • Spread on hot cake

    This is a good cake. I haven't had it for years but my mom used to make it and I remember it was very good. I'm glad to have the recipe now since my dear mother passed away over 30 years ago. Thank you for sharing. Peg
