How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • In a large bowl, combine strawberries, rhubarb, sugar and ¼ cup flour; mix well.
  • Pour into 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar; cut in flour and oats.
  • Sprinkle evenly over fruit.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Let cool slightly before cutting into serving squares.

    I have fond memories of picking rhubarb at my Gramma's for my Mom. I now have a rhubarb plant in my own garden that I got from my Aunt. Thanks for sharing this recipe as I look forward to making it soon. It's my favorite pie but anxious to add the oatmeal. Rhubarb delights remind me of good times with Mom and Gramma.     I was an odd child. I loved rhubarb and ate it like jam, on toast and anything else I could think of. It's just darned good.
