How to make it

  • In a medium saucepan, melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add water and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in rice, orzo, almonds, raisins, salt, ginger and cumin. Reduce heat to low; simmer, covered, until liquid is almost absorbed, about 3 minutes.
  • Place pilaf on serving plate. Fluff pilaf lightly with a fork. Serve immediately.
