How to make it

  • In a big casserole put oil and vegetables, stirring on medium heat until onion gets transparent.
  • Add meat and mix well until no pink remains.
  • Pour red wine and mix again.
  • Finally add tomatoes and water. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let cook on low heat, uncovered, for about 2 hours, until sauce becomes thick. Check again salt and pepper.
  • It is perfect when used for any kind of pasta as it is and is specially good for lassagne when mixed with Béchamel sauce in a proportion of 2 parts of Bolognese and 1 part of Béchamel.
