Ingredients
  • Brown and drain 1.5 pounds of ground beef
  • slice and quarter the slices of caun style Andouille sausage, brown as well
  • I use shalllots, 3 larger...or if you would like say 1 and 1/2 med. onions.
  • 3-4 stalks of celery diced up to preferance
  • 6 cloves of garlic ,mince
  • 2 14.5 oz cans of petite sliced tomatos (undrained)
  • 2 cans of tomato soup 10.75 oz
  • 7 of the soup cans filled with water
  • 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 16 oz white rice
  • 1/2 head of cabbage
  • 1-1 1/2 tbsps of pepper

Directions
  1. Brown the beef and 1 lb. of the andouille sausage up in seperate pans, drain. and then place in a large stock pot
  2. Add soup, tomato sauce, water
  3. Add cabbage chopped to preferance
  4. Add shallots (onions), celery, garlic, tomatoes, water and finally the pepper..I use a hotter style pepper but black pepper will suffice.
  5. After all ingredients are added bring to slow boil the turn down heat and simmer for at least 2 hours
  6. Cook the rice per package directions and add towards the end
  7. This recipe freezes well!
