- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup whole-wheat pastry flour shopping list
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder shopping list
- 2 tbsp cornstarch shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- FOR BROWNIES shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- Whisk sugar, flour, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in large mixing bowl.
- Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
- Store in covered container up to 6 weeks at room temperature. Freeze for longer storage.
- To make Brownies:
- HEAT oven to 350ºF. Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan with no-stick spray.
- In large mixing bowl, beat egg and vanilla.
- Stir in 3 cups Brownie Mix until nearly smooth.
- Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Spread in prepared pan.
- Bake 25-30 minutes.
