Ingredients
  • 6 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup of pumpkin, peeled and cut into squares
  • 4 cups of clean, chopped blue crab ( salt to taste )
  • one pepper ( Habanero )
  • four chopped green onions
  • 12 okra pods, cut up finely
  • three cups of coconut milk
  • 1 cup of water
  • four onces of pigs tail, salted ( optional )
  • 1 onion ( large )
  • Eighteen taro leaves
  • 4 bunches of fresh thyme

Directions
  1. Start by removing the skin of the taro leaves from the stacks.
  2. Continue by removing the tips of the taro leaves from the center of the rib.
  3. Cut into bite-sized pieces and rinse.
  4. Put the okra, thyme, taro leaves, garlic, onion, water, pumpkin, salted pig's tail, coconut milk, and whole habanero pepper into a large pot.
  5. Simmer covered thirty-minutes on low heat.
  6. Carefully place the crab into the pot, making sure not to tear the habanero pepper.
  7. Simmer covered for 30 minutes.
  8. Extract the habanero pepper and add salt to taste.
  9. Using an immersion blender, puree until smooth.
  10. If using a regular blender puree small amounts at a time.
  11. Then simply pour over rice.
