Jalapeno Chili Glaze Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 pounds sliced, un-peeled Granny Smith apples
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 small diced red pepper
  • 6 small diced jalapeno peppers
  • 1/4 minced white onion
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 orange zest and juice
  • 1/2 lemon zest and juice

Directions
  1. Cook apples in water until soft.
  2. Reserve cooking liquid.
  3. Push through strainer, but do not mash.
  4. Heat reserved apple juice and add one cup of the sugar.
  5. Cook until dissolved.
  6. In a separate pot, add vinegar, remaining sugar, peppers, and onion.
  7. Bring to boil.
  8. Add apple juice.
  9. Stir in honey and simmer an additional 10 minutes.
  10. Remove from heat and add juices and zests.
  11. Refrigerate uncovered until cooled.
