Ingredients

How to make it

  • Soak tapioca, prunes, apricots, raisins, and currants overnight in water to cover.
  • After soaking place all ingredients except cream in a large saucepan and cover completely with water.
  • Cook until fruit is tender.
  • The soup should be somewhat thick, like a runny jam. Not thick like pie filling. Thin with water if necessary.
  • Cool in the fridge for at least 24 hours before serving.
  • Serve cold with raw cream.

Well, my father's family were from Norway and I grew up with a variety of Irish and Norwegian foods. I remember enjoying a fruit and custard dish similar to this recipe and it brings back fond memories. Thanks so much for submitting this "5" fork recipe!

    Yay, Ballard and Poulsbo! :)

(You know those "Vikings" that set up camp in the park during Viking Fest? Yep, I'm one of those people. We're in the SCA, and we're Norse.) *grin*

Seattle is not the Norwegian capitol of the world---Poulsbo is, it's across the sound from Seattle. For serious. Go to Viking Fest. It's in a couple weeks.
