How to make it

  • Stir coffee and sugar in a medium bowl.
  • Add boiling water and stir well to melt the sugar.
  • Cool to room temperature and stir in the brandy.
  • Cut vanilla bean in two inch pieces.
  • Drop in a large jar and pour cooled coffee/brandy mixture over the vanilla bean pieces.
  • Cover tightly and store in a dark cool place for at least 15 days or longer.
  • Turn or shake the jar once a week.
  • Will keep at room temperature for 3 months.
  • Refrigerate for longer storage.
  • Makes about 6 cups.
