Tomato Mozzarella With Basil Vinaigrette Recipe
This is a very refreshing side dish that is loved by all. Especially good in the summer when tomatoes are so good. Enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 3 large ripe tomatoes sliced
  • 1 pound mozzarella sliced
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
  1. In a large serving dish alternate slices of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese.
  2. Sprinkle with oil, vinegar and basil.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.

I love tomatoes and fresh milk mozzarella. So refreshing. I put down my alteration at the bottom and we have it about once a week in the summer.

In Italy they call this Insalata Caprese.


I make this very recipe and it is very good!

Alterations


I also just buy grape tomatoes and small balls of fresh milk mozarella and season with kosher/sea salt, fresh ground pepper, few splashes of balsamic vinger and olive oil. Tear some basil throw it all together and toss.
