Finnish Pasties

- FILLING: shopping list
- 1 lb. ground meat (I usually use lamb or beef) shopping list
- 1 can of potatoes, (chop to small pieces before using) shopping list
- 3 c. instant rice shopping list
- 1/2 c. chopped onion shopping list
- 2 cloves of fresh garlic, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley shopping list
- 1 c. dill shopping list
- CRUST: shopping list
- 21/2 c. flour shopping list
- 1/2 c. water shopping list
- 1 stick of soft butter shopping list
How to make it
- FILLING:
- Prepare instant rice as directed on box
- In a med/large fry pan, brown the meat on medium heat
- Drain grease
- Add chopped potatoes, onion, garlic, parsley and 1/2 c dill to the meat let it sit on medium heat, stir often.
- Stir the meat filling and rice together.
- Stir the rest of the 1/2 c. dill to the mixture.
- CRUST:
- Preheat oven to 375 Degrees.
- Mix 2 c. of flour and butter into a large bowl.
- Combine together until softly mixed.
- Add water to bowl
- Mix together til it looks more dough like.
- Roll into a ball
- On a clean flat surface spread a 1/2 c of flour.
- Roll out dough onto completely flat
- With a wide cup, cut crust into many circles (I usually get 24 circles)
- place each circle onto a baking sheet
- In each dough circle place some of the filling in the center.
- Fold and pinch each circle over the filling.
- Bake for 20min.
