Ingredients
  • 1 potato
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper to desired taste
  • olive oil for frying (about 1 T;depending on size of potato)

Directions
  1. Heat olive oil in a medium frying pan.
  2. Grate the potato as you would cheese using the large grated holes.
  3. Mix the salt and pepper with the potato.
  4. Sprinkle grated potato together in the hot oil to form a circle about 1/2 inch thick. Slightly press down with spatula until flat.
  5. Carefully loosen edges with spatula. When it feels like it is holding together and bottom is golden-brown, flip it. (this may be a couple of minutes, but keep a close eye as it could burn fast)
  6. When other side is golden-brown, remove from heat.
  7. Enjoy!

Yep... this is the way it was done... before frozen.. I still do the fresh on weekends.

These sound almost like Waffle House - except not frozen, lol.

We put a little onion in ours. Super good, though, much better than frozen. Thanks for posting!

This looks great!! I'll be making this soon. Except I may add a little onion, garlic, and cheese!!!!
