Grilled Miso Fish Recipe
I was quite surprised in how flavourful this fish dish turned out. Not only a great soup, but a great marinade too. I've had great reviews.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs Halibut Steak, about 1" thick (to be cut in 6oz serving portions)
  • Miso Marinade:
  • 1/2 cups sweet white miso
  • 1/3 cups sweetened rice wine (mirin)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tbsp scallion greens

Directions
  1. Rince the fish steaks under cold, running water and drain thouroughly in a colander.
  2. Cut the steaks into six pieces and place in a bowl.
  3. Add the Miso Marinade to the steaks and toss lightly to coat the fish steaks.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for atleast 1 hr or for several hours.
  5. Prepare a medium-hot fire for grilling and place the grill about 3" above the coals.
  6. Remove fish from the miso marinade, spreading the marinade with your hands so that there is a light coating. Arange the fish on the grill and cook about 5-6 mins. on each side, or until flesh is opaque.
  7. **Alternatively you can broil fish about 7-9 mins on each side. Miso Glaze should bubble and brown on the edge.
