How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325F. Mix 21/2 cups cookie crumbs and 2 tablespoons butter in a small bowl with a fork.
  • Press into bottom and up sides of a 1o inch springform pan. Freeze for 15 minutes.
  • Note: I use foil pan's, depending on the size you could get 2 cheesecake out of this recipe.
  • 2. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and 1 cup sugar in a large bowl until fuffy, about 2 minutes.
  • Beat in eggs 1 at a time.
  • Add whipping cream and vanilla; mix well.
  • Pour batter into crust.
  • 3. Place cheesecake on top rack of oven.
  • Fill an 8x8- inch pan with water; place on lower rack of oven.
  • Bake cake until center is frim to the touch, about 50 minutes. Turn off oven; remove cake.
  • 4. Mix sour cream and remaining sugar. Stir until sugar dissolves; spread over cake.
  • Return to oven until sour cream is set, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle crumbs on top.

    In the ingredient list of this cheescake it lists
    24 (2 pkgs) of cream cheese--I'm guessing the 24 means ounces. However any cream cheese I've ever seen come in 8 ounce pkgs. So, should I use 2 or 3 8 ounce pkgs?
