How to make it

  • Cut up the bacon and fry it in a pan, saute the onions in the same fryingpan when the bacon is close to being done,drain the fat off.
  • Drain the Bicks saurkraut while in the jar and rince it twice by filling the jar that it came in with water and dumping.
  • Dump the Saurkraut from the jar into a large casserole dish.
  • Add the bacon and onions to the casserole dish.
  • Add 1/2 jar of long grain white rice to the dish.
  • Add 1 jar of water to the dish.
  • Add the salt and pepper to taste. Stir it up and put the lid on and cook at 350 degrees, check at the 1/2 hour mark and add water if needed.
  • Serve this with sausage and beer and everybody will be your friend for life.

    I've made something like this before, I usually add some brats to the last 1/2 hour of cooking.. very good!
