Garlic And Rosemary Shrimp Recipe

A wonderful shrimp dish to serve over pasta. I found this one in Southern Living. This recipe calls for a whole bulb of garlic not just a couple of cloves.

Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined (leave tails on if desired)
- 2 TB butter
- 1/4 c. olive oil
- 1 large bulb of garlic
- 1/2 c. dry white wine
- 2 TB white wine vinegar
- 1 TB lemon juice
- 3 dried red chili peppers
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 TB chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp crushed dried red pepper
- Garnish: lemon slices and fresh rosemary springs
Directions
- Melt butter with oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Gut garlic in half crosswise; separate and peel cloves. Add to butter mixture; saute 2 minutes.
- Stir in wine and next 8 ingredients; cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute or until thoroughly heated.
- Add shrimp; cook 5 minutes or just until the shrimp turn pink.
- Remove bay leaves and serve over favorite pasta. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh rosemary sprigs.

I've been on a shrimp and pasta kick lately, This is perfect. I love the combination of flavors with the garlic (can never have enough, rosemary and pasta. I think I'd like to throw in a pinch of cayenne as well, just to turn it up a notch. Great post!

Just so you know, hubby decided on this one tonight. I think it was the whole bulb of garlic that enticed him. He loves his garlic! He's even offered to peel the shrimp if I make it. :) Can't beat that. Off to the grocery. Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for another yummy recipe!
