German Almond Muffins

- ¾ cup butter shopping list
- ½ cup sugar shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 3 tablespoons milk shopping list
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 2 ¼ cups flour, unbleached shopping list
- ¼ cup almonds, ground shopping list
- 1½ tablespoon orange rind, grated shopping list
- ¼ cup raisins, if desired shopping list
- Topping shopping list
- ½ cup finely chopped almonds shopping list
- ½ cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar shopping list
- 1 ½ teaspoon flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon melted butter shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Beat in eggs, vanilla, and milk.
- Combine cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and flour.
- Add flour mixture to butter mixture.
- Gently fold in almonds, orange rind and raisins.
- Pour batter into greased muffin tins, filling half full.
- Topping:
- Mix topping ingredients together; sprinkle over unbaked muffins.
- Bake at 375ºF. for 25 to 30 minutes, or until browned.
