Nannys Beef Stew

My nanny made this, then my mom, it is the ultimate comfort food - haven't found another beef stew that makes me feel as warm inside. Like the chili recipe, this is general, put as much, or as little of the ingredients as you like
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. flour shopping list
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce shopping list
- beef stew meat shopping list
- green peppers shopping list
- carrots shopping list
- potatoes (Russet best for this) shopping list
- White or yellow onion shopping list
- mushrooms shopping list
- 1-2 two stalks celery shopping list
- garlic shopping list
- Pepper shopping list
- basil shopping list
- oregano shopping list
- 1/2 cup cheap wine (red or white) shopping list
How to make it
- Make a "gravy" with soy sauce and gravy
- Cut potatoes into 4ths, cut carrots in 4ths, coarsely chop onion and green pepper
- Mix meat, paste, veggies, spices together in big pot, stir together with wooden spoon
- Pour in wine, cover and let simmer for 4+ hours
- When potatoes done, good test stew ready to eat
