Ingredients
  • 2 Eggs - unfertislied and Free Range.
  • 2 Slices of thick fresh bread
  • Butter
  • Marmite

Directions
  1. Pour about about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water into a saucepan and bring to the boil
  2. Turn on the grill or get the toaster out and plug it in !
  3. Add little vinegar to the water (This prevents the eggs collapsing if they crack !!!)
  4. Pop the bread under the grill or in the toaster
  5. Using a large spoon, lower an egg, in turn, not at the same time, Don't be too ambitous, into the boiling water VERY SLOWLY, ensuring the shell does not crack.
  6. Repeat for the second egg.
  7. Set a timer to 4 mins.
  8. Check the toast. - if burnt, get 2 more slices and try again.
  9. If nice and brown apply a little butter on one side only of each slice.
  10. Apply a thing covering of Marmite on each buttered side of toast.
  11. Lick the knife so as not to waster any Marmite.
  12. Go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  13. Drop the toast on the floor and see on which side up it lands ! pick it up and say "thought so" !
  14. Cut the toast into 1 inch thick strips and pace on a plate next to the empty egg cups and tea spoon.
  15. When the buzzer or pinger sounds, take the eggs out the water, one at a time, and place each egg in an egg cup.
  16. Serve with a hot mug of Tea or Coffee, sit in front of the TV and enjoy !

Duh, Fergie, please tell me what Marmite is? I'm guessing jelly? or some kind of spread but I've never heard of it.

Marmite is Yummy ! look at the website http://www.marmite.co.uk I use it a lot in cooking and onj toast (& with cheese ... yurrrrmy)as it add lots of flavour and acts as a sort of thickening agent. i.e put a heaped teaspoon of Marmite in your Spag bol sauce and see what difference that makes !
Most coutries have something called Veggiemite which is similar but not the same.
Hope that helps.

Thank you so much Fergie.

I found marmite in the 'ethnic section' of the supermarket, when we were on holiday in florida... i was sooo happy!
