Grandmamas Lasagna Recipe
This is my husband's grandmama's recipe. This is wonderful. My family loves this dish. The only thing I change is I usually use more garlic.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. Ground Chuck
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbs. Basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Oregano
  • 1 Medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (1 lb.) Can of Tomatoes
  • 2 (6 oz.) Cans Tomato Paste
  • 10 oz. Lasagne Noodles
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Cups Cottage Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tbs. Parsley Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 lb. Mozzerella Cheese

Directions
  1. Brown meat; drain.
  2. Add garlic, basil, salt, oregano, onion, tomatoes, and tomato paste to meat.
  3. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes; stir occassionally.
  4. Cook, rinse, and drain noodles.
  5. Beat eggs.
  6. Mix eggs, cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, pepper.
  7. Layer 1/2 noodles in a 13 X 8 x 2.
  8. Spread 1/2 of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles.
  9. Add 1/2 of the mozzerella cheese.
  10. Add 1/2 of the meat sauce.
  11. Repeat.
  12. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
  13. (If prepared ahead and refrigerated, bake for 45 minutes.)
  14. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

OOOOOOOOOOOOh this sounds really good!


This is actually the original recipe for everyone at one time-long before, red wine, ricotta, buffalo mozzarella Yada Yada Yada. Love it-thanks for the memories.
