Lentils with Garlic and Tomatoes

- 4 tbs oil shopping list
- 5 cloves garlic, peeled and minced shopping list
- 1 large or 2 smaller tomatoes (1/2 lb), peeled and minced shopping list
- 1 cup dried lentils, picked over, washed and drained shopping list
- 3/4-1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tbs lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in heavy pot over medium flame. When hot, put in the garlic. Stir and fry til garlic browns lightly.
- Put in the tomatoes. Stir and cook about 5 minutes or til tomatoes turn into a paste.
- Put in the lentils and 2 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil. Cover, lower heat and simmer gently for 1/2 hour.
- Add salt and lemon juice. Stir to mix.
