How to make it

  • Blend ground pork, onion and allspice well
  • Put in a saucpan and just cover with water
  • Simmer until boiled down and thick
  • Spread in an 8" pan and chill
  • Scrape off any visible fat that has come to the top
  • Slice for sandwiches or spread on crackers

    I grew-up with gorton and I have been making this for decades. I wonder, have you ever tried canning it?

    Very interesting. I knew a french woman (alsace) who made something very similar. I used to put it on bread with cheese and broil it. LOL she thought I was odd, but it was good.
