Yes. Raccoon. Why else would you have bloodhounds but to tree a raccoon? And why else would you wanna tree a raccoon?

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp salt
  • soda water to cover meat
  • 1 raccoon, cleaned, skinned, boned (and cut into pieces if desired).
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 5 sweet potatoes
  • Pepper
  • Sage

Directions
  1. Mix salt into soda water. Soak raccoon meat in the mixture overnight.
  2. Remove from water and wash twice.
  3. Boil raccoon until tender. (Time depends on if it's still boned, or cut up, etc)
  4. Place in a bread pan with sweet potatoes and cover with the broth.
  5. Season to taste with pepper and sage.
  6. Bake at 375 until brown, about 35 minutes.

Oh My, it's really Racoon - I thought this was going to be a funny name for something else. What a hoot!! What does Racoon taste like - chicken?


This is great! We've moved out in the country and I've thought about the possibilities. :)


Oh my is right... we actally had a neighbor who ate Racoon... And they are so CUTE. I could never, but I also have friends who won't eat beef if they raise it... I have no prob with that! To each his own, live and let live!


This disturbs me a little (O.K. a lot). Yeah, I'm one of those, besides I had one as a pet for years and it was the sweetest, funniest little thing.

What is the purpose of soaking it in salt water and trimming the fat ?? do you trim the fat and then soak it is salt water?? Just curious
