Creamy Layered Casserole

- 1 lb ground beef shopping list
- 1 T finely chopped onion shopping list
- 2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 can (2 1/4 oz) sliced ripe olives, drained shopping list
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt shopping list
- 1 cup small-curd cottage cheese shopping list
- 1 cup (8 oz) sour cream shopping list
- 1 can (4 oz) chopped green chilies shopping list
- 4 cups crushed tortilla chips shopping list
- 2 cups (8 oz) shredded monterey jack cheese shopping list
- Additional tortilla chips shopping list
How to make it
- In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add tomato sauce, olives and garlic salt; set aside. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, sour cream and chilies; mix well. In a greased 11x7x2-inch baking dish, layer half of the tortilla chips, meat mixture, cottage cheese mixture and Monterey Jack cheese. Repeat layers. Top with additional tortilla chips. Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 40 minutes or until heated through.
