How to make it

  • mix cake mix and flour
  • cut butter in to mixture
  • add coconut and nuts
  • mix well
  • pat 2/3 of the mixture in to a 9x13 ungreased pan
  • spread apricot preserves evenly over this layer
  • crumble remaining mix over the preserves
  • pat down lightly
  • bake 1 hour at 325 f
  • after these have cooled some i always go around the edge of the pan with a spatula and then cut into squares because they are much easier to divide while they are warm
