Rummy applecake

- 200 g flour shopping list
- 1 egg yolk shopping list
- 75 g sugar shopping list
- 125 g butter shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 40 g raisins shopping list
- 4 TABLESPOONS light rum shopping list
- 1 lemon shopping list
- 1,2 kg apples, more of the sour kind shopping list
- 60 g butter shopping list
- 1 TBSP cinamon shopping list
- 2-3 TBSP sugar shopping list
How to make it
- quickly knead dough with flour, egg yolk, sugar, butter and a pinch of salt
- make ball, cover with saran wrap, put in fridge for about 30 min.
- preheat oven to 200° CENTIGRADE
- pour boiling water on raisins, until they lose their wrinkles
- (wish it was that easy with mine :-)
- pour off water, dump rum onto raisins
- peel, core and quarter apples,
- press juice out of lemon, sprinkle onto apple slices
- use baking paper for bottom part of
- 26 cm cake 'springform'
- take about 2/3 of dough, rolling it between sheets of plastic wrap,
- put onto bottom of form
- use fork to make lots of little holes (it is easy to make, but so difficult to describe)
- put into oven for 10 minutes
- now shape a 'sausage' out of the rest of the dough,
- press against sides of baking form.
- place apples on pre-baked dough,
- sprinkle raisons on appples
- melt sugar, butter and cinamon,
- brush apples with mixture
- bake for approx. 50 minutes.
- remove from baking pan to let cool.
- you do not have to use the baking paper - but it makes it easier to remove cake from pan.
