Tater Tot Hot Dish Recipe
This is one of the first dinners I learned to make when I was a teenager. It's really easy, and everyone I've ever served it to loves it! Not very healthy, though.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, grated or chopped
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 cans Veg-All
  • 2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup
  • 1 bag Tater Tots (or crowns...the flat ones)
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese

Directions
  1. Cook onion and garlic in oil.
  2. Add beef and brown.
  3. In a separate bowl mix Veg-All, cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 the cheese.
  4. When the beef is browned add to veggie-soup mixture and stir well.
  5. Place half the tater tots on the bottom of a 9x13 pan and put the filling over the top.
  6. Arrange the rest of the tater tots on the top and sprinkle the rest of the cheese over that.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake the last 15 minutes.
  8. I find that it comes out of the pan better if it rests for about 15 minutes after baking.
