French Breakfast Muffins

- For muffins shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/8 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter, melted shopping list
- For topping shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter, melted shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
How to make it
- For muffins:
- In a mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
- In another bowl beat egg slightly; stir in milk and melted butter.
- Add egg mixture to flour mixture.
- Stir just until moistened (the batter may be lumpy).
- Lightly grease muffin cups or use muffin cup liners.
- Fill cups about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until muffins are golden.
- For topping:
- While muffins are baking combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
- Immediately dip tops of hot muffins into the melted butter, then in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
