Cheesy Ground Beef Caserole Recipe
my children are pretty picky when it comes to caseroles but they never leave anything on their plates when this is served.

Ingredients
  • 1-16 ounce package of any type of pasta
  • 1/2 cup on chopped onion & divided
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
  • 2 cups of tomato sauce
  • dash of salt and pepper or to taste
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 3/4 cup of sharp cheddar cheese shredded

Directions
  1. cook pasta to package directions, rinse well and set aside.
  2. saute 1/4 cup onion with the 2 Tablespoons of butter until tender.
  3. add beef and cook until lightly browned..drain well and then
  4. add the tomato sauce and salt and pepper.
  5. Simmer fir 20 minutes.
  6. In a bowl combine the sour cream, cottage cheese and remaining onion. stir well and set aside.
  7. Place the cooked noodles into a lightly buttered caserole dish.
  8. Spoon the cheese mixture over the noodles.
  9. Spoon the meat mixture over the cheese.
  10. Sprinkle the 3/4 cup of cheddar over top and bake for 25-30
  11. minutes at 350 degrees.
  12. Let sit for 5-8 minutes before serving...
  13. then enjoy.

This sounds really good - I would add some italian seasonings, but overall can't beat the combo.


I am going to make this for dinner tonight.
