Chicken With Apple-Brandy Cream Sauce Recipe
Brandy, apples and chicken are a great combination! This is a quick and easy recipe to serve to guests or the family on a Sunday evening.

Ingredients
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • All-purpose flour
  • 3 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • ½ cup applejack or Calvados
  • ¼ cup brandy
  • 1 cup whipping cream

Directions
  1. Melt butter in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Coat with flour, shaking off excess.
  4. Add chicken to skillet and cook until brown on both sides
  5. and cooked through, about 4 minutes per side.
  6. Transfer to platter.
  7. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon butter from skillet.
  8. Add apples and both brandies; simmer over medium heat
  9. until apples are tender and liquid is slightly syrupy, about 7 minutes.
  10. Using slotted spoon, transfer apples to platter with chicken.
  11. Add cream to skillet; boil until thickened to sauce consistency,
  12. about 5 minutes.
  13. Season with salt and pepper.
  14. Return chicken and apples to skillet and heat through, about 2 minutes.
  15. Arrange chicken on plates. Spoon apples and sauce over chicken and serve.
  16. Good with rice or egg noodles.
