How to make it

  • Combine all ingredients in large sauce pot the bring to boil over medium heat.
  • Stir occasionally then reduce heat to medium and cook 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Remove bay leaf then immediately fill hot pint jars with mixture leaving 1/2" head space.
  • Carefully run a nonmetallic utensil down inside of jars to remove trapped air bubbles.
  • Wipe jar tops and threads clean then adjust two piece caps.
  • Process jars in boiling water canner for 15 minutes.

    My grandmother used to make this and it was fantastic. It's too bad you don't see it anymore.
