How to make it

  • Thaw the pastry sheets at room temperature for 40 min or until they're easy to handle.
  • Meanwhile cook the beef in skillet over med-high heat until it's well browned, stirring frequently to break up the meat, drain grease.
  • Add onion, peppers and garlic, cook until veggies are tender.
  • Add taco seasoning, water and tomatoes (if using canned, do not add water) and cook according to the package directions. Cool completely.
  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.
  • Stir eggs and water with a fork in a small bowl.
  • Unfold 1 pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  • Roll the sheet into a 14” square.
  • Cut into 4 squares.
  • Repeat with the remaining pastry sheet.
  • Spread each square with refried beans, leaving about 1 ½” around edge bare.
  • Place meat mixture down the center of each square.
  • Top with olives and cheese.
  • Brush the edges of the pastry with egg.
  • Fold one side over top, fold ends over and bring other side over and seal.
  • Place seam down on baking sheets.
  • Brush with the egg mixture.
  • Bake for 20 min or until golden.
  • Serve with sour cream, guacamole and salsa.
