How to make it

  • saute onions and garlic in heated oil over medium heat until soft (if you want to add meat of any kind, you can saute it now)
  • stir in all the ingredients.
  • Cover pot, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 45 minutes. Adjust the seasoning to taste, and simmer another half hour or more.
