Italian Sausage Lasagne

- 1 lb fresh italian sausage, casing removed shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 can (14.5 oz) tomatoes shopping list
- 2 cans tomato paste shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 tsp dried basil shopping list
- 10 oz lasagna noodles shopping list
- 3 cups ricotta shopping list
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese shopping list
- 2 tbs parsley shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp black pepper shopping list
- 16 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven 375
- Brown sausage, slowly drain fat.
- Add garlic, tomatoes, basil, oregano, 1/2 tsp of salt and tomato paste
- Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes
- Add a little bit of water if it is too thick and use the size of tomato paste can to measure, that should be enough.
- Cook noodles in boiling salted and oiled water. Let them sit, do not drain.
- In bowl combine, ricotta cheese, Parmesan, parsley, eggs, 1 tsp of salt and black pepper.
- Mix well until it looks very creamy. If you have a stand mixer use it for mixing as it works perfect. If you have a hand mixer use it.
- Next, layer noodles in bottom of 13 x 9 x 2 dish
- Cover with meat, then ricotta mixture then mozzarella then meat again.
- Continue until all layers are completed.
- Finish with meat sauce then put a final layer of mozzarella on top of it.
- Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes.
- Allow the dish to sit for five minutes before serving as the layers are very hot and need to cool down. Enjoy!
